Brad Perry, a talented astrophotographer, is offering a beginner to intermediate-level photography workshop for anyone with a DSLR/mirrorless camera on Saturday, April 6, from 9am - 11:30am at the NB Sports Hall of Fame.

The free workshop will be hands-on and will cover all the necessary equipment, resources and guidance for planning and predicting photo opportunities, as well as basic technical methodology.   

During the workshop, attendees will learn about:   

  • Planning and composing shots of the moon with a foreground   

  • Understanding how the different phases of the moon affect photography  

  • Moon and planet conjunctions  

  • Capturing stunning shots of the Milky Way  

  • Photographing the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)  

  • Shooting star trails   

  • Special events such as meteor showers, comets, Starlink, and ISS passes   

  • A glance at eclipses   

  • General safety tips for working in the dark and cold   

The workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly, but intermediate-level photographers are also welcome. By the end of the workshop, you'll have gained valuable knowledge and techniques to help you capture stunning night sky photographs.
