Free Summer Concert Series – Mia Kelly & McKayla Daigle

Experience the City of Fredericton’s free summer concert series this summer in the historic backdrop of Officers’ Square within the Garrison District! Taking place every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7pm featuring a variety of local performances and travelling artists.

About the band: 
Mia Kelly is a singer-songwriter from Gatineau, Quebec, known for her unique blend of Folk, Rock, and Blues. Writing and performing in both French and English, Kelly is gaining recognition in the Canadian folk music scene for her poetic lyrics and powerful, versatile voice. Awarded Young Performer of the Year and Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards, she is celebrated for her emotional storytelling and raw, vulnerable songs. Her debut album, Garden Through the War (2022), explores themes of resilience and growth, and was recognized by the SOCAN Foundation. A finalist at the 2023 Jeux De La Francophonie and the recipient of Emerging Artist of the Year by Culture Outaouais, Kelly has shared the stage with artists like Aysanabee, Daniel Champagne, and Julian Taylor. She has performed at major events such as Tallinn Music Week, Folk Alliance International, and Ottawa Bluesfest, and was part of the Young Artist Program at the 2023 Winnipeg Folk Festival. Her work has been covered by outlets like La Presse, Ottawa Citizen, and Radio Canada.

About the band: 
McKayla Daigle is a Fredericton-based singer-songwriter with over 22 years of performance experience. Blending Folk, Country, and Jazz, her soulful music is deeply rooted in personal experiences. Formerly the frontperson of Fundy Drifters, she has since flourished as a solo artist, captivating audiences with her heartfelt melodies and engaging stage presence. Known for her quick wit and warm humor, McKayla has performed at events like the Living Roots Music Festival and Queen Street Crawl. With plans to record new music, she continues to make a lasting impression on listeners with her authentic storytelling and musical talent. McKayla will be opening the evening for acclaimed singer-songwriter Mia Kelly, setting the stage with her signature blend of heartfelt storytelling and rich musicality.
