Join us for the launch of Askəmawso, a captivating children’s book written by Lisa-Maude Aubin-Bérubé, a Wolastoqewi artist from Wahsipekuk and Québec. The story follows Askəmawsit, a Wəlastəkewi man, on his journey to find the long-lost Kelowəskap in hopes of fulfilling his greatest wish—to live forever.

A graduate of NBCCD’s Wabanaki Visual Arts program, Aubin-Bérubé is dedicated to preserving and sharing Wəlastəkewi traditions, particularly through her expertise in wampum making.

Askəmawso is recommended for children ages 5-9 and is now available on Amazon. This book is a beautiful reflection of the author’s passion for culture and language preservation. It’s a must-read for families looking to share Indigenous storytelling with younger generations!
