Visitor Information Centre
Until May 17, 2023, visitor information is available from the Fredericton Tourism main office at 371 Queen Street, Suite 101, open 8:15am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
From May 18 to October 14, 2024, the Visitor Information Centre located at 11 Carleton Street, in the heart of Fredericton’s Historic Garrison District, is your complete source of information when visiting the Fredericton Capital Region. The bilingually staffed centre provides literature and details on regional attractions, restaurants, accommodations, and updated tour and activity schedules.
Visitor Information Centre (VIC) hours:
- May 18 to August 31, Daily, 10am-6pm
- September 1 to October 14, Daily 10am-4:30pm
For visitor information from October 15, 2024, to May of 2025, the VIC at 11 Carleton Street will be open Monday through Friday, except Holidays, 10am-4:30pm.

How to get here
Flying
The Fredericton International Airport is just 14 km from our downtown, and offers multiple flights daily through Air Canada, Porter, Sunwing and Lynx Air (coming June 2023).
YFC onsite Car Rentals are available through Avis, Budget, Enterprise, and National.
A taxi agent is located at the airport to assist passengers and arrange for ground transportation needs.
Driving
The Fredericton Capital Region makes for an excellent road-trip destination from several major cities:
- Montreal, Quebec (8 hours)
- Halifax, Nova Scotia (4 hours)
- Boston, Massachusetts, USA (7 hours)
- Bangor, Maine, USA (3 hours)
From the United States, Fredericton is only 60 minutes from the Houlton, Maine border and 90 minutes from the Calais, Maine border.

Getting around the City
Explore the Fredericton Capital Region by car, bus, foot or bike! Several rental car companies operate within the region, and the Fredericton Transit offers affordable public transportation within the City of Fredericton. The 120+ km Fredericton trail system is an excellent option to see the sights on foot, or bike! Bike rentals are available through local shops such as The Radical Edge and Savages. Taxi services are available to be booked by phone.
