On Saturday, July 19th, 2025, the Mactaquac Stream Basin in Mactaquac, NB, will host the second event of the HP Bass Series. Known for being a prime location to target both smallmouth and largemouth bass, the basin offers an ideal setting for anglers. With the warm summer weather, bass will be especially active, particularly during the cooler early morning and late afternoon hours. Smallmouth bass can typically be found near rocky points and faster-moving water, responding well to spinnerbaits and tubes. Largemouth bass, on the other hand, are more abundant in the slower-moving, weedy areas of the stream, where soft plastics and weedless lures will prove most effective. The rich aquatic vegetation and varied structure of the basin create the perfect habitat for both species, ensuring a dynamic and exciting day for all anglers.
