Spring also marks the return of many community markets. The Oromocto Spring Market, the Taymouth Community Easter Market, the Spring Fling Markers Market, and the Keswick Community Market are all back with local and handcrafted goods.

As the trees start to turn green, get outside and enjoy the beautiful trails that Fredericton has to offer. The Fredericton Trail network that weaves through the city and along the Wolastoq is the perfect place for a walk, run, or bike. Get out of the city and explore the White Rapids Adventure Trail in Fredericton Junction that takes you through this historic and unique village. Or go waterfall chasing on the Buttermilk Falls Trail along the majestic Nashwaak River.

The New Brunswick Sports Fishing Association will kick off their smallmouth bass tournament series on May 3 on Harvey Lake. Kick off Spring by getting out on the water, soaking up the sun, and participating in this catch-and-release-style tournament. Or check out the Smallmouth Open in the heart of Destination Nackawic from May 16 to 18. This tournament in the Mactaquac Headpond is the largest smallmouth bass fishing tournament in Atlantic Canada with $50,000 in cash and prizes on the line.

Curling Championships
From April 27 to May 3 Fredericton will welcome the World Mixed Doubles and World Senior Curling Championships, a can’t miss sporting event! 20 Mixed Doubles teams will play for the world title and Olympic Qualification Points on their road to the Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games in 2026. The Senior tournament is sure to be just as thrilling, with Canada’s men’s and women’s teams having won gold last year. The Capital Winter Club will also be hosting a variety of musical and entertainment events throughout the week, ensuring that there is something for everyone!
