Located just 45 minutes from Fredericton, Big Axe Brewery has grown from its early days as a small B&B and brewery into a rustic log-style barn taproom and brewery expansion completed in 2018. Overlooking the beautiful St. John River, our cozy space has become a welcoming stop for locals and visitors alike—whether arriving by car, ATV, snowmobile, or boat.
Today, guests can enjoy over 14 taps pouring a rotating lineup of our core brews and seasonal creations, from stouts, IPAs, porters, and sours to unique small-batch beers brewed with locally sourced and foraged ingredients. In addition to our beers, we craft a sulphite-free cider, carry local meads, and offer cocktails made with New Brunswick spirits, we also introduced our non-alcoholic line, Sociable, featuring three refreshing styles: IPA, Amber Ale, and American Wheat.
Our taproom keeps a rustic and relaxed atmosphere, often filled with the sounds of good music, laughter, and conversation. With its warm barnwood setting and river views, it’s a favorite place for live entertainment, creating an inviting vibe that so many guests love to return to. Big Axe Brews & Bites, our in-house kitchen, serves up tasty bites to pair with your pint, and we regularly host ticketed events throughout the year.
