Le Musée de la région de Fredericton vous invite à voir l’exposition Stanton Friedman Is Out Of This World le samedi 6 avril et le dimanche 7 avril, de midi à 17 h, et le lundi 8 avril, de 9 h à 15 h.

Just in time for an Eclipse!  

The Brydone Jack Observatory is the oldest existing astronomical observatory in Canada, built in 1851.

Constructed of wood, it has an octagonal tower especially designed to house its equatorial telescope.

Dr. Jack carried out astronomical observations and determined longitudes, essential for cartography in the province, and his measurements were used in the first map of New Brunswick.

Juste à temps pour l’éclipse!  

Cet observatoire, bâti en 1851, est le plus ancien observatoire astronomique en existence au Canada.

Construit en bois, il comporte une tour octogonale conçue spécialement pour son télescope équatorial.

Le professeur Jack y a effectué des observations astronomiques et déterminé des longitudes essentielles pour la cartographie de la province, ses mesures ayant été utilisées dans la première carte du Nouveau-Brunswick.

**CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER**

Join members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) for a star party and learn the wonders of the night sky on Friday, April 5, Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 from 7:30pm-9:30pm.* 

Telescopes will be set-up for Astro-viewing and preceding the evening observation sessions, there will be a presentation where you can learn about the stars, planet and galaxy  that is hoped to be observed.

Des télescopes seront installés pour l’observation astronomique et, avant les séances d’observation, une présentation vous permettra d’en savoir plus sur les étoiles, la planète et la galaxie que l’on espère observer.

Featuring anywhere between 7-10 vendors ranging from Greek, Syrian, Jamaican, Korean, and Mexican. 

The market operates from 11am to 6pm Fridays, 9am to 4pm Saturdays, and 10am to 4pm Sundays.

You won't have to worry about protecting your eyes from this solar eclipse! Before your gallery visit stop by Jack Goldstein's painting of a solar eclipse which will be displayed in our Harrison McCain Pavilion.

There is no charge to view and take a photo with this painting. If you wish to visit the gallery during your visit, regular admission fees will apply.

Vous n'aurez pas à vous soucier de protéger vos yeux de cette éclipse solaire ! Avant de visiter le musée, arrêtez-vous devant la peinture de Jack Goldstein représentant une éclipse solaire, qui sera exposée dans notre pavillon Harrison McCain.

Cuban jazz powerhouse Dee Hernandez adds her high-energy, global rhythms to the Jazz at Purdy’s series at the Delta Fredericton on Thursday, April 4 at 7pm, and she has requested a dance floor!

Hernandez was recently given the title of ‘the voice of Canadian-Cuban jazz’ by Maritime Edit magazine, and has been described as a ‘force of artistic innovation and musical freedom’ and her talents have been featured prominently on national specialty jazz programs and formats.

C’est Dee Hernandez, la puissante chanteuse de jazz de Cuba, qui fera vibrer l’hôtel Delta Fredericton le jeudi 4 avril à 19 h, dans le cadre de la série Jazz at Purdy’s, avec sa musique du monde au rythme énergique, et elle a même demandé un espace pour une piste de danse!
