Brent Butt has long been considered one of the funniest people in Canada, with a career in stand-up comedy that stretches into five decades, including numerous appearances at major festivals in multiple countries and being voted Best Male Stand-Up in Canada by his peers in the profession. He also created and starred in two successful sitcoms – CORNER GAS (“Funniest Show on TV” as voted by TV Guide Readers, currently in 60 countries) and HICCUPS (multiple Leo and Writers Guild Awards).

Brent Butt a longtemps été considéré comme l’une des personnes les plus drôles au Canada, avec une carrière d’humoriste qui s’étend sur cinq décennies, incluant de nombreuses apparitions dans de grands festivals à l’échelle internationale. Il a par ailleurs été élu meilleur humoriste masculin au Canada par ses pairs. Il a également créé et joué dans deux sitcoms à succès – CORNER GAS (« L’émission la plus drôle à la télévision » selon les lecteurs de TV Guide, diffusée actuellement dans 60 pays) et HICCUPS (plusieurs prix Leo et Writers Guild).

For about 100 years music has been integrated is a vital element of film in helping to set mood and character and in many cases has taken in an even larger role in the form of the musical. Sometimes these works are specific to film and others are adapted from theatre pieces to the screen. Our concert presents both the music that is familiar to many, and the songs included as well as some of the concert music written by film composers in a rollicking journey through music associated with Stage and Screen.
