Beaverbrook Art Gallery
Located in downtown Fredericton, discover the world-renowned Beaverbrook Art Gallery and its incomparable collection of historical and contemporary paintings, sculptures, and more! Visitors to the gallery are often found lying on the floor in front of Salvador Dalí's masterpiece Santiago El Grande, a four-meter-tall painting surrounded by three other of Dali’s works that are all part of the Beaverbrook’s permanent collection. Additionally, the gallery is also home to the oldest birchbark canoe in the world, the Grandfather Akwiten, crafted in Fredericton in the 1820s by the local Wolastoqiyik First Nation. The Permanent Collection has grown to include over 7,000 objects, including several large-scale outdoor sculptures by national and international artists that are installed on the gallery grounds.
