Located in beautiful downtown Fredericton adjacent to the provincial legislature, the Fredericton Playhouse has been providing a professional venue for the performing arts for decades.
The Playhouse was a gift from Lord and Lady Beaverbrook to the people of New Brunswick in 1964.
Today, the theatre operates as a professional performance venue available for local, national, and international artists and companies. The organization also presents touring artists as part of its own professional series and offers various other specialized programs for youth and local artists.
The auditorium currently seats 709 people (473 orchestra, 236 balcony) and is equipped with a listening assist system and several wheelchair and transfer seats to accommodate all patrons.
The facility’s lobbies provide a gallery space for local visual artists. A cloak room, bar/concessions and merchandise services are available during events along with access to the Fredericton Convention Centre for additional banks of restrooms and access to the East End Parking Garage. Professional ticketing services are provided by a box office that is open daily to the public.
