Crabbe Mountain has the largest vertical descent in New Brunswick and is home to some of the best snow terrain in Atlantic Canada. With FROSTival on the horizon, Crabbe is getting ready with some amazing events and deals! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned skier/snowboarder, Crabbe has something for you! Hit the slopes on a Sunday afternoon with a discounted ticket for $35! Have you ever wanted to learn how to ski? Now’s your chance with Crabbe’s Never Ever Days! Perfect to get the whole family on the mountain, Never Ever Days provides an affordable opportunity for new skiers to learn with a lift ticket, ski lesson, and equipment rentals for only $25, January 20-21. Don’t miss Torque Motorsports King of the Mountain! Join the fun at night of head-to-head snowmobile racing under the bright lights of Crabbe Mountain Saturday January 27, beginning at 5:00pm.
OG's Enchanting Winter Wonderland
Explore a one-of-a-kind, enchanting Winter Wonderland, Friday, January 26 to Sunday, January 28 at the OG Estate Brewery in Magaguadavic, New Brunswick. A New 2024 FROSTival experience! This weekend-long event features endless outdoor activities for the whole family including sliding and skating, snow maze, snow globe photo booth, winter crafts, cupcake decorating and more!
At night, discover OG’s Illumines Night Walk, a family friendly trail of colourful lights and magical winter displays – you won’t want to miss this unique outdoor experience. Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy locally made comfort foods, sweet treats and so much more.
Outdoor Skating Fun
Lace up your skates and get outdoors for some family-fun skating parties across the Fredericton Capital Region. Join the City of Fredericton on Saturday January 20 for a celebration of the brand-new Officers’ Square rink. Then glide across the bridge and enjoy a free community skate with Fredericton Business North on Saturday, January 27, from 1:00-3:00pm. There will be music, hot chocolate and treats – fun for the whole family!
Don’t miss the opening of Maqtaquac’s enchanting Forest Skate on Saturday, January 27. Experience their unique 900m Forest Skate loop, complete with live music and twinkling lights.
Wostawea Maritime Cup
Wostawea will host the 2024 Maritime Cup along the beautiful trails of Killarney Lake Park, Saturday, January 27 and Sunday, January 28! This premiere event hosts up to 200 skiers of all ages and levels from across the province. Witness the invigorating, unmatched fellowship as the participants compete in various distances, with the classic ski event on Saturday, and the skate ski event on Sunday.
Winter Trails & Parks
Discover more of the Fredericton Capital Region with outdoor activities on our many stunning trails in parks across the region. Take part in Winter Geocaching Fun at Killarney Lake Park, enjoy a winter wonderland walk through the Fredericton Botanic Gardens, or take yourself on a self-guided nature walk adventure through the trails in Oromocto.
Get your snowshoes ready for some fun outdoor exploring! Fun for the whole family, enjoy the Animal Tracks, Snowshoes and Snacks with the Nashwaak Watershed Association on Saturday, February 3. Or bring your snowshoes, skis, or hiking boots out to Nackawic to explore the amazing trails, including the Pokiok and Nackawic Nature Trails during Big Axe’s Winterfest. Why not join Second Nature Outdoors for a FROSTival Family Snowshoe Adventure at Odell Park on Saturday, February 3. Be sure to register early!
Experience more winter outdoor wonder at the Oromocto FROSTival Sliding Party, Saturday, January 27, or during Fredericton Junction’s Winter Functions in the Junction and try your hand at a snow sculpture event. You never know what snowy fun you can get into!
Spectator Sports
After an active day outdoors, spend the evening with the family catching a game! The Fredericton Red Wings, Fredericton’s Junior A Hockey Team is hosting games throughout FROSTival! Join in on the action and watch an exciting game with the whole family! With two universities in Fredericton, St. Thomas University Tommies and the University of New Brunswick REDS, there is no shortage of live action happening in the community!
