In this intermediate oil painting workshop, participants are invited to explore colour and composition through works featured in the exhibition A Family Journey: The Private Collections of the Sobey Family. Using these artworks as inspiration, participants will create simple arrangements that become the starting point for a small oil painting. Guided instruction will focus on working with a full chromatic palette, developing confident colour-mixing strategies, identifying strong shapes, and exploring ways to balance careful observation with expressive surface abstraction.
