This is an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime experience for most people with the next total eclipse not happening in the  Maritimes until  2079.

Join us for the once in a lifetime event, EclipseFest Fredericton Watch Party, happening on Monday, April 8 from 2:00 to 6:00pm.

On Monday afternoon, starting at 3:23 pm, prepare to be awestruck as the sun is completely obscured by the moon for 2-3 minutes, with a partial eclipse visible for approximately 2 hours.

  • Live eclipse-themed music
  • Eclipse inspired foods from local food trucks
  • Beer garden
  • Live Royal Canadian Air Force Flypass
  • Captivating science exhibits
  • Local artisans and crafters showcasing unique celestial goodies

Mesmerizing science demos and display by Science East, Bibliothèque publique de Fredericton Public Library, Fredericton Region Museum and more!

The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) - New Brunswick Centre will host a public observing session, complete with telescopes, engaging exhibits, and crucial safety information.

Not ideal weather conditions? Don’t worry! The NB Sports Hall of Fame will be live streaming the eclipse through NASA.

Please acquire your own solar glasses, as looking into the sun is extremely dangerous. A very limited number of glasses will be available during the EclipseFest Fredericton’s event. Check out a list of the best places to get your glasses on the EclipseFest Fredericton Event Page.
