Rebels on the River – 1776 is a travelling exhibit that explores the year settlers in the Maugerville-Sheffield area joined the American Rebellion the only known spontaneous rebellion in present-day Canada. Curated by historian Dr. Gary Campbell, this exhibition examines why some New England Planters rebelled while others stayed loyal to the Crown. This exhibit opens on July 5, 2026.
