Retrospective 2024 celebrates the lifework of Strong, an African Nova Scotian ArtSmarts artist and a widely respected Black History and Art advocate in the art and cultural circles in her province and beyond. Strong is an impressionist artist who supported and mentored fellow Black artists and artisans in Nova Scotia, many of whom have garnered international attention and praise. Her art has a distinct voice, and her subjects are engaging and poignant. Her perspectives challenge colonial values and interests while illuminating vibrant African Nova Scotia communities.
