Winter Astronomy

Your local Fredericton Amateur Astronomers will be hosting some evening winter sky viewing opportunities within the city starting at 6:30pm until about 9:30pm and daytime solar viewing starting at 2pm. These evening night and day sky opportunities will let everyone and anyone look through our telescopes at the winter wonders in the universe above us. 

The viewing is free and will take place: 

  • Southside Fredericton: February 7: Thompson Field off Smythe Street  
  • Northside Fredericton: January 30: Location to be determined (check our Facebook Page for northside locations)   
  • We will also be viewing the sun at Willie O'Ree Place on January 26 and at The Grant Harvey Centre on February 2. 

These events are weather dependent, and locations and times may change or be cancelled if Mother Nature isn't cooperating (clouds, etc). Please be sure to check out their Facebook page before coming out.
