Nature lovers rejoice! With our lush forests, scenic rivers, and extensive trail network, the Fredericton Capital Region offers endless opportunities to connect with the great outdoors.

Day 1
Start your day with a scenic bike ride across the iconic Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge, where you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Wolastoq (Saint John River) and get a perfect introduction to Fredericton’s beautiful outdoors. Grab a Fredericton Trail Guide to map out your adventure through the city’s impressive trail system, which boasts over 120 kilometers (about 75 miles) of trails, including 21 kilometers (13 miles) of smooth, paved paths ideal for biking. There’s even more to discover throughout the region, with countless trails waiting to be explored. Don’t have a bike? No problem! Both Radical Edge and Savages offer high-quality rentals available daily. After crossing the bridge, reward yourself with a stop at Picaroons Roundhouse, one of the city’s beloved Taproom Trail breweries, where you can relax on the riverside patio with a cold drink and a delicious lunch under the sun.
In the afternoon, get up close and personal with the majestic Wolastoq (Saint John River) from a new vantage point by canoe, kayak, or paddleboard. As you glide along the scenic waters, you’ll have the unforgettable experience of paddling beneath the same bridge you biked over earlier. The gentle current and peaceful atmosphere make it easy to soak in the beauty of the natural landscape. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, even soaring eagles overhead!
End your day with an unforgettable fishing adventure on the pristine waters of the Wolastoq (Saint John River). It’s the only place in North America where you can reel in the legendary Triple Crown: musky, striped bass, and shortnose sturgeon. And the best part - you could catch them all in a single day, if fortune (and the fish) are on your side! Whether you're a seasoned angler chasing a trophy catch or a beginner eager to test the waters, the Fredericton Capital Region offers some of the best fishing experiences around.
Cap off your day on the river with a perfect full-circle moment, dining just steps from where your journey began at the Drift Pool and Patio.
